tomorrow), but I just had to pop in and say something non-scifi related.
I absolutely love the Olympics.
Yeah they can be cheesy and over-exposed and full of corruption and steriod use, but there is just something about them that I can't help but love. All those people from all over, setting everything aside to compete their hearts out. Peter Gabriel singing "Imagine" almost got me in tears and Pavarotti performing Puccini's "Nessun Dorma" almost killed me it was so wonderful.
Good to know that even crusty cynics like me can still be moved. :)
And somehow, strangely enough, it makes me a little optimistic about a lot of things. I'm pretty sure that's the Olympic's ultimate magic.
