My unpopular opinions (proceed at your own risk):

The fact that Avatar is nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture and very well will win does not surprise me, but it does embarrass and disgust me. And as I have refrained from ever going into someone's journal and harshing their squee about said movie (no matter how tempting), I would appreciate everyone else reciprocating by not answering a complaint someone has about something with, "Can't you stop thinking so much and just enjoy it?" No, we can't. Deal with it.

And while I'm here, something else that drives me nuts. Walmart is a convenient scapegoat, I know, but it's the one that pisses me off the most. Shopping at Walmart says to me that people care more about saving money than about how shitty employees are treated. Some people say the greatest failure of capitalism is the failure of people to use their consumer power to enforce values important to them. Otherwise why would sweatshops and corporate greed and environmental rape be as prevalent as it is? Because when it comes down to it, humans care more about their own money than their values, their planet, and other people's lives. I should just deal with it, but I can't. Sorry, Lem and Phil.

Why yes, I am having one of those days. Why do you ask? Lol. *goes back to searching for fannish glee*
