Reading the assorted posts this weekend was like standing amongst a crowd of people watching a swimmer cheerfully strap on raw meat before diving into the shark tank.
I'd say that pretty well sums things up. :)

It's funny to think of fanfiction becoming a more visible thing. I remember what a hard time I even had grasping the concept when I first tripped over it. "Wait....the *fans* write what the imagine happening? What?" :) And I think it still has such a negative stigma, not only copyright issues, but I think most outsiders think all fanfic is S&M pedophiliac Snape/Harry fic. Not that that sort of stuff doesn't unfortunately exist. (Hey...to each his/her own...I just don't want to read it. Ever.)
