+ Thanks for the snowflake cookies! Festive and calorie free. Perfect. ;)

+ Dear whoever first referred to Will Zimmerman as a mouth-breather: Damn you. It's driving me INSANE now. I'm not supposed to be cheering for the beastie of the week to kill him. Really.

+ Oh, and for some reason, during the last ep of Sanctuary, I kept seeing snatches of Sam Carter. The walk, I think. Or maybe I am just overly thankful to be back to obsessing over my OTP. Hm. A S/J rewatch marathon may be required.

+ So, the Tale of Genji is probably the first novel, and it was written by a woman. But more importantly, it's also the first indulgent self-insert fanfic. (Try not naming the tragic, beautiful, true love of the hero after yourself. It's kind of a give away.)

+ I suspect the only reason I bought Elliot Yamin's 'Wait for You' is because the beginning section sounds almost like the music from Final Fantasy X.

+ I built a fire. Perhaps I won't die withing five minutes of apocalyptic winter after all. It would take at least twenty.

+ Anyone else see the Dell tv ad where the guy is watching Stargate on his new shiny laptop? That may have made me squee a little.

+ I should write fic now. *gets distracted by dirty dishes*

P.S. I need a cliche for the next icon in my clicheathon challenge. Thoughts?

Oh, THANKS. Now I'm going to be thinking that, too. He did stare at Magnus for, like, thirty seconds with his mouth open, though. It was a little freaky.

I found myself thinking "Go Sam!" during this ep, for the first time. Maybe something AT did was quite Sam-esque?

*checks cliches list* Bodyswap? Huddling together for warmth?

Huddling together for warmth

Yes! Naked we-must-avoid-hypothermia fic! Not because I have ever done this Because it is very fun, yes indeed.

I'd love to hear the reasoning you gave for them getting naked in a cold place. Snerk.

Hahah. I just want to share the pain. I'm evil like that, what can I say. :)

We've already done snuggling. I can try to work in bodyswap. That has potential for hilarity. Or really, really, really kinky smut. Hmmm...

Hah hah! YAY Stargate getting on commercials!

Cliches, cliches... I can't think of any at the moment.

Mouth-breather, hahaha! (Of course, I always want the beastie of the week to eat Will...)

Yes! I saw lots of Sam Carter this last ep too, mostly in how she said things. I think the accent was slipping.

I had to go back and look at the cliche list... we're up to #8-Telepathy/psychic connection, now? I just use my "brain connect icon" for those moments. *points up*

I feel so bad for not liking Will. I'm not a big fan of hating characters. They are not making it easy on me though. I'm trying, dammit!

Ooooh. Telepathy cliche icon. Hmmmm.

That was possibly me. It's about the only thing that drives me batty in the bad way about him. Sorry? (For the record, Alyson Hannigan does the same thing, and while I suffered through seven seasons of Buffy watching her pant and gape, I cannot watch HIMYM, no matter how much I love NPH.)

posted by [identity profile] annerbhp.livejournal.com at 04:50am on 08/12/2009
Bwhahah. Unfortunately, that is not the only thing that annoys me about him, it's just the most...unignorable. Lol.

No! Not Willow! Now I can never rewatch my Buffy DVD sets. :(

I SAW THAT! Windows 7 has a good marketing campaign with the various PC manufacturers. I was half paying attention and then...wait, were those ha'taks blowing up?

And then I realized who else would come up with pyramids flying through space!!!

That was either the SGU premiere or Continuum....watches YouTube link. Yep, SGU premiere. HEEEE!!!!

Well it wasn't from the footage. It was that the effects actually looked really cool, so I knew it was from when they actually had money!

Bah! I had a friend's mother point out that Will always his mouth open.

I did think Sam, but I think it was because I was thinking of SGA's Abyss.

posted by [identity profile] annerbhp.livejournal.com at 04:52am on 08/12/2009
Oh Will. You think someone would point that out by this phase in the actor's career. Someday he will figure it out and never be able to watch old clips ever again. Snerk.

" I should write fic now"

Yes! Please? Pretty please with Sam on top (of Jack . . . )!

*happy image*

Ignore the dishes. They'll be there tomorrow . . . :)

*waves Jedi hands*
these are not the dirty dishes you are looking for...

Poor, poor Will. Maybe Helen will say something.

Well, I managed to forget about the dishes. But neither did I fic much. Lol. *stares off in space*

Aw. *pets Will*

I really don't like disliking characters. Please to stop making this difficult to stick to, writers.

I thought it was [livejournal.com profile] lyssie who called Will a mouth breather, but I'm not friended with [livejournal.com profile] carta above and she might have first dibs on that appellation. He did bug me last ep. He is my least favorite character of the series, but it's been Kate-light lately and that may be influencing me a bit. I love Magnus. I love Henry. I love the Big Guy. I love John. I loved Ashley. Will? Not so much and I really blame the writers first, but the actor's delivery and mouth gaping doesn't help him, either.

I have not seen the Dell ad. Thanks for the link as I will go watch and enjoy.

Cliches? How about a Stargate Command Christmas Ball, or has that been done already?

posted by [identity profile] annerbhp.livejournal.com at 04:57am on 08/12/2009
Yes. Minimal Will makes me happier. That ep had a serious lack of...well, everyone else. Lol.

Hahah. Is SCG Christmas Ball a cliche? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

posted by [identity profile] katcorvi.livejournal.com at 12:16pm on 08/12/2009
I can't point you to any stories, but I did read some very early on in my SG1 career. Maybe they weren't Xmas balls per se, but there are several fics involving a big soiree at the SGC. Oh, one I can think is by Jojo and it's called Too Many Colonels.

Of course, you've written the big soiree, too, and quite recently. *g*

How about a Christmas Ball in DC? You know, where Jack takes Sam . . . :)

Lol. I have to admit the future ideas file for DC may have something like that in there.

Hee!:)

Yes, fic, please.:)

And I didn't see much Carter in this last ep, but I was watching "Revelations pt. 1" this morning, and caught "the walk" when she was coming into the study to fill in the others on the tests on John.:)

You know, I have this strange feeling that I have not seen all the Sanctuary eps, even though I am certain I am. I might have to netflix it again just to be sure.

I am usually very impressed how little I see Sam in Helen, and I *look*, so yeah, pretty impressive for the most part.

posted by [identity profile] katcorvi.livejournal.com at 12:24pm on 08/12/2009
Give me another week and I'll have S1 finished and send it to you. I've only got the last two eps to watch.

Finished last night. Now I just have to find a mailer and I thought I'd have to buy one, but driving to work this morning I remembered that there are some in the guestroom closet with the Xmas paper and whatnot. I think. If not, I'll get one tonight and it'll go out in tomorrow's mail.

posted by [identity profile] meoinya.livejournal.com at 06:51pm on 08/12/2009
Yeah, I've been quite happy that I don't see much, if any, of Sam in Helen. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't be able to watch Sanctuary.

Ffrom a writers POV the last episode was fantastic. I watched the episode first run and then just listened to the dialogue and delivery on the second. It was filled with brilliant subtext.

I'm not even sure he has teeth in the top.

You don't think this means we're too far gone, do you?
