Thoughts are being had.

Words are being written.

But nothing is getting finished!!!!   Argh!

*searches around for magic fic finishing wand*

Now where did I put that....

Look in the cupboard behind the jars of peanut butter and Baconaise.

Damn baconaise. It's always getting in the way.

I am also struggling to get days 10-12 out to you from slave fic of doom. Soon!

Slave fic of doom??? Wheeeeeeee!!! ::does happy dance:: I'll just be sitting here patiently by the computer hitting the refresh button on Gmail as if that will cause it to magically appear.

Don't wear your computer out. Remember the part where I said I was having a hard time finishing anything? Hmmmm?

But now that you've found your wand, it won't be long, right?

No, it's totally behind the jars of "Jam"

okay, now see, I didn't read that as "magic fic finishing wand," I read that as magic fishing pole. And then wondered why Jack's fishing pole was magic....

I'm pretty sure it's not his fishing pole that's magic. ;)

Yeah, I read those fics. Very, very amusing!

But returning to the original subject of the post, I'm not feeling the impatience. After all, this is your unfinished fic, not my unfinished fic, which happens to be driving me around the bend just now. Ooops, I may have just revealed what a nasty, cold-hearted person I really am! ;)

I am, however, all fluffed up with happiness in anticipation of a vast supply of fic to be read at some time in the unspecified future. Life will be good!

Mmm. Jack's 'fishing' pole. What a nice thought. . . :)

Ahh, finishing. It really is tough, isn't it?

You can always do what my script reader did to me last week. . . bribery.

I turn in my draft to her on Monday and she buys me a big, yummy Starbucks. I don't turn it in and I have to buy one for HER.

God forbid I part with my hard earned cash! It was sufficient motivation . . . :)

Yeah, usually setting deadlines will do it, like signing up for ficathons. I also send out pieces to someone kind enough to read my partial in-progress fics. Then she can bug me for more. But lately none of my tricks are working. Harrumph.

So that's how you do it! I've always wondered. :)

Where does one shop for a magic fic finishing wand, anyway...?

It's a reward at the end of a very long, very arduous quest. ;)

Does this "quest" involve sitting in front of a computer, valiently ignoring the internet while typing until your fingers bleed by any chance? *g*

There's also something with a troll, a riddle, and a banjo.

No wonder! I've been forgetting the troll...

as long as you are writing something - a line a day keeps.... the rabid fans away? ;)

Ha. Could you imagine someone posting one line a day on a fic? Lol. Oh, wait. Some people do. Drabble fic FTW. ;)

A WIP posted one sentence a day. That is one of the scariest ideas I've ever heard.:D Especially the part where I know if it was one of yours, I would be too desperate to wait and would have to go read the new sentence each day. ::headdesk::

Hahah. That sounds like an interesting experiment. Time to fire up a sockpuppet. :P

I know exactly what you mean, A. Words and words and words sometimes do NOT make a good sentence.

Yeesh. And sometimes they just explode and make the fic longer and longer but no where near closer to FINISHED. Argh.
