It all began with a Fandom Secret and a brithday surprise. So many of you fabulous people came out to celebrate the Day of Indulgence in honor of surreallis' birthday in 2008. surreallisis someone who contributes so much to fandom, bringing people together, offering thinky thoughts, and, for me, often reminds us that fandom is supposed to be fun, yo. Don't take it all so damn serious all the time! And so we hold the Day of Indulgence Challenge in honor of her birthday, to remind us of all these things.

Here's your chance to write that cliche fic you've always wanted to. To say to hell with canon, characterization, and continuity and be as indulgent as possible. Write a fantasy. Write an experiment. Write a drabble. Write a kink. Just give it a go. Then post it on the 25th in honor of the Day of Indulgence.

This year the challenge is opened up to all fandoms, genres, pairings, ratings, and rpf. There is absoutely no limit, just the way it should be.
