That is totally how I tripped into fanfiction as well. I mainlined like a million stories and they were awesome, but I kept thinking, "I wish this had happened instead." One day I just sat down and was like, huh, maybe I should write it myself. It seemed like an insane idea at the time, I must admit. Lol.
