Yup, still alive. I've just been...distracted by something lately that I'll tell y'all about later. I've also been reading actual books, (Go read 'The Help' by Kathryn Stockett right now), and got sucked into an impromptu rewatch Stargate from the beginning streak when I finally watched the new COTG cut. I've made it through First Commandment, but got stalled out by Brief Candle. Most notable thing from this time through, is that as much as a Sam/Jack girl as I am, I never really thought there was necessarily something there between them from The Very First Moment, but I'm changing my mind this time through. Lol. Oh, ship goggles. What would I do without you?

In random news, I won an Isis Award! I didn't even know the awards were running, or that I'd been nominated, but I got the email to go pick up my banner (which led to the interesting task of trying to guess what category I could have actually written a fic for, lol) but eventually got my hands on this!

So, thanks to anyone who voted for me! (And the person who nommed it, of course.)

And last but not least,I just finished watching the new ep of Glee...very fun, I love these characters, but the last scene? I finally understood why there is this part of me that squees at the very idea of this show and loves it to tiny bits. It's that school girl in me who used to sing along to my favorite songs and imagine it was about me and whatever boy I liked at the time. Because, come on, Glee is nothing if not song!fic on the TV. AND I LOVE IT.

I love how the topics it covers are actually pretty serious, yet the tone of the show is utterly comical. The interspersed songs are the icing on the cake.

Yeah I've been kinda sucked into reading *gasp* actual physical books lately too, in large part because it's been kinda quiet here (not here here, but fandom here) of late. I assumed it was due to the end-of-summer recommitment to school +/or work, and the new teevee season threatening. It's nice to know that at least some of it is due to cultivation of literary taste!
Shipgoggles gooood!!! [cf icon]

I never thought there was anything between them until a few seasons in, either:)
So - is the re-watch inspiring your muse? *hopes*
yeah, yeah, I'm not subtle. You should know that by now! :)

Did you read the interview with Glassner on Gateworld? Kind puts a bit of the commentary for the re-cut with RDA and Wright in more of a 'full-circle' perspective.

Also, GLEE!!!!! (It really is song!fic on TV, but it is awesome song!fic).

Yes, Glee is the best sort of song!fic, like the epitome of that genre's potential. *goes to get hairbrush*
