I'm listening to the original version of 'Halo' and wondering why it sounds wrong. Oh wait, it's not a mashup with Walking on Sunshine! Thank you, Glee, for eating my brain in the best possible way. (By the way, Kurt's solo this week? I had to pause SEVEN times for mortification/laugh myself to tears breaks. I can't have been the only one.)

I've started DVRing SG-1 again because for some reason the act of pulling out my DVDs and selecting episodes is too much for me. I get overwhelmed. But now they just magically appear and I think, hey, why not? Watched 'The Shroud' today. I still think that may be the best ep of season 10. Love the Daniel and Jack scenes, and the Daniel and Vala scene, and the Sam and Jack in her lab scene. (I totally detected that Jack has a 'Sam voice' this watch through. RDA just talks so soft to her or something. It was hilarious and awesome and clearly it has been too long since I watched my OTP in action on the screen. Lol.)

I'm fairly sure I had a third thing to say, but it has completely escaped me. Huh.

It's possible zombies just worked their way into my NaNo. I did not see that coming. Lol.

Still behind, but rapidly closing back in on the target numbers. Just got derailed by the usual combination of RL, work, and novel disorganization. A few days stepped back and writing outlines and polishing up what I already have has gotten me back in the right direction. (Now if only I could actually delete things rather than having them all strikethrough'd and shoved at the bottom of the draft. Be gone, foul text!)

Been watching some TV. You know, just a tiny wee bit. Really.

CSI (Las Vegas) is one of the few shows that the husband watches with me, so when they pulled the whole CSI Trilogy thing last week we actually watched all three CSI's. Oh boy. I can now say with some confidence that CSI Miami may be the single most terrible thing on TV right now. And yes, I am counting Trauma, god rest it's cracky soul. It's that bad. (Aiieee! Emily Proctor! Please leave now and find a better show for your awesomeness. i.e. Ainsley Hayes.)

Uh, I think that's probably it. NaNo has kept me from digging in on White Collar yet (or the Gilmore Girls box set still sitting unopened), but I have serious Hulu plans in place come December.

Back to NaNo now.

Yup, still alive. I've just been...distracted by something lately that I'll tell y'all about later. I've also been reading actual books, (Go read 'The Help' by Kathryn Stockett right now), and got sucked into an impromptu rewatch Stargate from the beginning streak when I finally watched the new COTG cut. I've made it through First Commandment, but got stalled out by Brief Candle. Most notable thing from this time through, is that as much as a Sam/Jack girl as I am, I never really thought there was necessarily something there between them from The Very First Moment, but I'm changing my mind this time through. Lol. Oh, ship goggles. What would I do without you?

In random news, I won an Isis Award! I didn't even know the awards were running, or that I'd been nominated, but I got the email to go pick up my banner (which led to the interesting task of trying to guess what category I could have actually written a fic for, lol) but eventually got my hands on this!

So, thanks to anyone who voted for me! (And the person who nommed it, of course.)

Dear holdouttrout send me to watch scifi_tv_addict's 'Wake Up Call" which is an awesome, hilarious, well put together vid about Teal'c not particularly dealing well with other men touching his Sam and Vala. You gotta see it! So funny.

Delicate Dancing by weesta_fic (Leverage, Eliot, Sophie, Hardison/Parker)
Short little look into the dynamics of all these characters. Sophie observing Eliot with Hardison and Parker. Very fun.

Just a City Boy by anr (Glee, Finn/Rachel, Finn/Quinn)
I'm still wondering how I can be so excited about fanfic for a show that's only aired one ep. Lol. But this is a great fic, dealing with Finn's crazy, confusing, frightening, and yet somehow sweet relationship with Rachel. I just hope this show can live up to the fanfic it's inspired!

And if you are somehow still not reading mhalachaiswords' Physics of the Spin, why, I  ask you? WHY? The latest chapter, Pegasus Law of Disaster, has completely blown me away and made me fall in love with the story all over again as the author deals with the impact of the bigoted, cluster-fuck-waiting-to-happen insanity that is the American Military's 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' policy. (SGA/Gilmore Girls Crossover, some Rory/John)

Oh, and random PSA  to the universe? Stories posted to LJ in multiple parts? Be a kind, thoughtful author and take the five seconds it requires to add a link to the next chapter at the bottom of each previous entry, pretty please? Otherwise the reader might not be arsed to search around your journal to find the next bit and give up trying to read it all together. Just a thought.
